Every factor is a tap. Open any one to see the read behind it.

Three things that set the call.

Multi-discipline by default

Surf-fish, pier, kayak, spear, boat-inshore, boat-offshore, lake-shore, lobster, fly. California saltwater coast plus a freshwater starter. Not boat-only. Not San Diego-only.

Public data stays free

The full forecast runs on public data. Free, no ads, no subscription. The forecast never sits behind a paywall.

Your catches stay yours

Catch log is local to the device. No public catch broadcasts. No data sales. No catch-location feeds to brokers, insurers, or aggregators.

Most of the day, the fish aren't on.

Scroll the day. The app reads the same windows you would, and tells you when to bother.

4:00 AM Dead Dark. Nothing moving yet.

Sample day, Refugio kelp line. Real windows update hourly in-app, keyed to your spot and target species.

The forecast is free. Pro is the gear.

Questions, answered.

What is GhostFingers Fish?

A daily fishing intel app for the California coast. Open it at 5:42 AM and it tells you which of your spots to fish, when, target species, tackle, and why, based on live conditions, the day's forecast, and your own logged catches.

What does it cost?

Free. No ads, no subscription, no account: the full verdict, full catch log, full pattern dashboard, and full public-data forecast. A Pro tier with extra features (kit-aware tackle, planning mode, waypoint nav, offline maps) is planned for a later update.

Where does the data come from?

Free, public data sources, plus published state fishing regulations. The public-data layer stays free, forever.

Does it cover freshwater?

Saltwater along the California coast is the core. A freshwater starter set of major California lakes (Castaic, Casitas, Cachuma, Pyramid, Clear Lake, Shasta) is included, with solunar windows and season rules. Broader freshwater (the Eastern Sierra, the Delta, Central Valley) is coming in a later update. Fly is a first-class mode alongside surf-fish, kayak, spear, pier, boat-inshore, boat-offshore, lake-shore, and lobster diving.

Will my catches be shared?

No. Catch log and spot data stay on the device. Catch locations are never broadcast to a public feed and never sold to a broker, insurer, or aggregator.

When does it ship?

TestFlight beta summer 2026. App Store to follow. Waitlist gets the earliest TestFlight invites.

Is there an Android version?

Not at launch. iOS first. Android lands if the iOS app earns it.

The waitlist is the front of the line.

The earliest TestFlight invites go to the waitlist when the beta opens.
